Why Getting Dressed Feels More Complicated Over Time

When I was younger, I never gave much thought to what I was going to wear.
I just put something on and got on with my day.
Somewhere along the way, that changed.
I think for a lot of us, getting dressed actually gets harder as we get older, even though we’re hopefully wiser.
Some of it is obvious.
Our bodies change.
Our lives change.
We step into new roles and different expectations.
What worked before doesn’t always work now.
But that’s only part of the story.
Many women have spent years paying attention to everyone else. What’s needed. What’s appropriate. What works for other people.
Somewhere along the way, we lose touch with what works for us.
And when that happens, getting dressed starts to feel like something we have to figure out every single day.
Your wardrobe hasn’t caught up to who you are now, or who you’re becoming.

So where do you start?
Not by buying more clothes.
Not by trying harder.
You start by getting clear.
Clear on what actually works for you now.
What colors bring your face to life.
What proportions work with your body as it is today.
What kind of style reflects who you are and how you want to show up.
When those things are clear, getting dressed becomes simpler again.
Not because you’re putting in more effort, but because you’re finally working with something that fits.
And that makes all the difference.
If your wardrobe no longer feels like it’s working for you, this is exactly the kind of work I do with women every day.
